Excellent! That's a funny story , as beautifully told as ever. I love the idea that the Navy has 'Hobby rooms' too.

Wait...one of your neighbors murdered his wife?
Funny story but that little side note freaks me out...

Huzzah! Hilarious! I like to speculate on the many ways your dad's flashing manparts may have precipitated in murder! Now my holiday season is complete! Thanks, Scott!

Well told and very funny. Being an Army brat, I can relate.

I thought the unraveling seam bit only happened in cartoons!
And I love the idea that this event was so traumatic, it drove one of the onlookers to murder.

Another fine autobiographical endeavor. Thanks for sharing this, Scott. Thank you for sharing this and your other mini tomes, amigo. They are delightful. I hope all the Shaws! have a Mele Kalikimaka. Love to all Judy, Kirby and you.

Great story, Scott. Of course, I already knew the ending. Seems somebody spilled the beans. Hmm. Wonder who that was?
I love the drawing of your dad. It might be casting against type, but do you mind Chevy Chase playing him in the movie?

Terrific, funny tale, well told. This story would make for a great scene in the full length feature, "Scott Shaw's Christmas Story". I think I love your autobiographical stuff the most, Scott.
Keep 'em coming!

Gotta say again, Scott:
You tell a hell of a good story. Every one I've read has been a treat.
Thanks, and keep them rolling out. But not off the roof.

If some editor ever complains that your work isn't flashy enough -- well, you should obviously show them this story!

Scott, These are among the funniest stuff I read, but the one with your Dad on the roof saying "How's it look." had me laughing out loud with tears in my eyes. Thanks.
