CARLA SPEED McNEIL was born and raised in Louisiana. She lives in Maryland with her husband Mike (different Mike, obviously) and their two kids. She likes cooking, and she never has enough work time. She is best known for Finder, an ongoing work she describes as 'aboriginal sci-fi', which she began self-publishing in 1996, first in print and then on the web. Dark Horse Comics now publishes all Finder material, and has so far released The Finder Library Volume 1 and an original Finder graphic novel called Voice. The second volume of The Finder Library will be available in late September. Also, McNeil is working on Bad Houses for DC/Vertigo, a coming-of-age graphic novel written by YA author Sara Ryan.
