I'm getting a lot of : sweet. How about: sick? Twisted? Out of control? Having been to the wedding this p.m., and gotten my ass rather toasted, I have have to say: am I now a halllmark card?
You took the off-ramp at Sick, took a hard right at Twisted, broke down at Out of Control, and somehow managed to wind up at the corner of Sweet and Touching.
Nah, Hallmark rarely uses the phrase "oh sh*t!" -- and a toally treackly account might leave out the earlier divorce. There's still a little edginess here. I for one would be up for a sequel about the reception, and what sh*t went down when you and presumably others got toasted.
The key thing: variety is the spice of life. Do some sweet ones and some sour ones. ;-)
I'm with Jim H - don't worry about mixing it up every now and then. Mentioning the divorce was keeping it real... which made the last panel all the more powerful. Hope and love win out here, but we know that's not always the case.
Great comments, guys, thanks for carrying on this heated debate while I slept it off. Yeah, the reception was very comics-worthy, graphic-novel-worthy, actually. But the hurricane was a disappointment and did not kill us all.
faqbulous, as usual, babe!!
I agree that a follow up about the reception would be grand (& it would give you alot more material that lends itself to sick & twisted, if YOUR weddings are anything like, oh, EVERYONE else's...) Big smootch to Tim from me, by the way (congratulatory, not predatory...)
LOVE, m.
All riight! I'm so glad somebody got that. Moby Dick is one of my fave books (also, I can never stop cracking up at the title). Appreciate your sophisticated readershipping.
Im very sophisticated in my reading! I bought the Bill Sienkewicz version and watched the shit outta "Dicky Mo" on those horrid 60's Tom and Jerrys..so yes..Mad Sophisticatedness!
Yeah, another 12 panels taking us through divorce, new beginnings, literary allusions, hope, love, loss. Just a typical day for you, huh? You big show-off.
